Do I get a 50% or 80% BAFA grant?
The funding rate depends on the location of the place of business receiving the consulting. In the old federal states, 50% generally applies; in the new federal states, 80%. There are exceptions: in the Lüneburg and Trier regions it is 80%, in the Leipzig region 50%. We check the exact rate based on your postal code.
Which costs are eligible?
The invoiced consulting costs are eligible up to a maximum of €3,500, that is, fees, expenses, and travel costs. If you are not entitled to deduct input VAT, the gross costs count; otherwise, the net costs. At 50%, you therefore receive a maximum of €1,750; at 80%, a maximum of €2,800 in grants per consulting engagement. If your costs exceed €3,500, you bear the excess amount yourself.
How accurate is the calculator?
It provides non-binding guidance based on the status in November 2026 (also applies to applications from 2027, but only for proofs of use submitted by December 31, 2028). BAFA decides on approval and the specific funding rate. In the free initial consultation, we check your funding eligibility and prepare the application.
Do I have to apply for funding before the consulting?
Yes. The application must be submitted through the BAFA application platform before the consulting begins; retroactive funding is not possible. As a BAFA-listed consultant, we prepare the application for you.
